Car
From any location within Pisgah National Forest, head towards US-276 N. Once on US-276 N, continue to follow the signs for Asheville. Merge onto I-26 E towards Asheville. After approximately 18 miles, take exit 24 for I-240 E towards Asheville. Continue on I-240 E for about 5 miles. Take exit 5B for US-25 N/N Market St. Continue on N Market St for about 0.5 miles, and the Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site will be on your left at 52 N Market St, Asheville, NC 28801. There is no parking fee at the site, but parking may be limited in downtown Asheville, so plan accordingly.

The ART (Asheville Rides Transit) provides service to downtown Asheville. You can check the ART schedule for the nearest bus stop and times. Once you arrive in downtown Asheville, disembark at the closest stop to N Market St. From there, it is a short walk (about 0.2 miles) to the Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site located at 52 N Market St. Keep in mind that bus fares may apply, so check the current fare schedule on the ART website.
