Car
From any point in Uwharrie National Forest, locate Highway 49. If you're in the northern sections of the forest, follow the signs to get onto Highway 49 South. Continue on Highway 49 for approximately 10 miles until you reach the intersection with Badin Lake Road. Turn left onto Badin Lake Road and drive for about 3 miles. Look for the entrance to Badin Lake Recreation Area on your right, where there are signs directing you to the OHV Trail. Please note that parking may require a small fee, so have some cash on hand.

If you are relying on public transportation, you will first need to reach the nearest city with bus services, which is Troy, NC. From Uwharrie National Forest, you can take a local bus to Troy. Once in Troy, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to Badin Lake Recreation Area. It is approximately 8 miles from Troy to the recreation area, so expect a ride fare of around $15-$25 depending on the service you use.

For those adventurous enough to bike, you can follow the same route as the car. Start on Highway 49, heading south towards Badin Lake Road. The ride will be approximately 13 miles from the center of Uwharrie National Forest to the Badin Lake Recreation Area.
