Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Medora, ND. Head east on I-94 E towards Exit 27 for ND-85 N. Take Exit 27 and turn left onto ND-85 N. Continue on ND-85 N for approximately 10 miles until you reach the entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Wind Canyon Trailhead is located within the park. Note that there is an entrance fee of $20 per vehicle, which is valid for 7 days. After entering the park, follow the signs to Wind Canyon Trail, which is about a 5-minute drive from the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there is limited public transportation directly to Wind Canyon Trail. However, you can take a Greyhound bus or other regional transport services to Medora, ND. From Medora, you may need to arrange for a taxi service or rideshare (like Uber or Lyft) to get to the entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Once at the park, follow the signs to Wind Canyon Trail. Be aware that the cost of rideshare services may vary based on distance and availability.

  If you are an adventurous traveler, consider biking to Wind Canyon Trail. Starting from Medora, you can bike along the scenic road leading to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The distance is approximately 10 miles along ND-85 N. Ensure you have a map or GPS device with you, as the route can be rural with limited signage. Once you reach the park entrance, follow the signs to Wind Canyon Trail. Note that biking within the park may require additional planning, as some areas may not be accessible by bike.
