Start at the Mandan Depot located at 201 W Main St, Mandan, ND. Head east on Main St toward 2nd Ave NW for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with 2nd Ave NW. Turn left onto 2nd Ave NW and continue walking for about 0.5 miles. You will pass the Mandan High School on your left. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Memorial Hwy (US-83). Cross the street and follow the sidewalk along Memorial Hwy heading north for approximately 1 mile. You will then reach the Burnt Boat Rd intersection. Turn left onto Burnt Boat Rd and walk for about 0.4 miles. Chief Looking's Village will be on your right at 2023 Burnt Boat Rd, Bismarck, ND.

If you are starting from downtown Mandan, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops. Begin your ride at the Mandan Riverwalk, heading north along the riverfront for about 1 mile. After reaching the end of the Riverwalk, turn right onto Memorial Hwy (US-83) and ride north for about 1.5 miles. After reaching the Burnt Boat Rd intersection, turn left onto Burnt Boat Rd.
