Car
If you're driving, head towards Oslo city center. From the E6 highway, take the exit towards 'Oslo sentrum'. Follow signs for 'Rådhuset' (City Hall) or 'Akershus Festning'. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that it may be limited and may require payment. Once you park, walk towards the waterfront, and you will see the fortress ahead.
Public Transportation
To reach Akershus Fortress using public transportation, take the T-bane (metro) line 1, 2, or 3 to 'Nationaltheatret' station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk: exit the station, head towards the waterfront, and follow the signs for 'Akershus Festning'. Alternatively, you can take tram line 12 or bus lines 30, 31, or 32 to 'Akershus Festning' stop, which is very close to the entrance.
