Walking
If you are starting from the center of Ålesund, head towards the waterfront along Storgata street. Continue straight until you reach the harbor area, where you will see the beautiful Jugendstil architecture. Take a right onto Skaregata street and follow it to the end, which leads you to the Aksla viewpoint. From here, you can take the staircase up to the Aksla Dam area. The walk offers stunning views of the surrounding islands and the fjords.

From the main bus station in Ålesund, take bus number 6 towards Aksla. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Aksla' bus stop. From the bus stop, follow the signs that lead you to the Aksla viewpoint. The dam is located nearby, and you can reach it by walking downhill from the viewpoint.

If you have access to a bicycle, rent one from a local shop in Ålesund and cycle towards the Aksla viewpoint. Head south along the waterfront on Strandgaten, then take a left onto Løvenvoldgata. After a short ride, turn right onto Aksla Road, which will take you directly to the viewpoint. From the viewpoint, you can cycle down to the Aksla Dam area. Make sure to enjoy the scenery as you ride!
