Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car from Oslo, take the E18 highway towards Drammen. Continue on E18 until you reach the exit for E39 towards Kristiansand. Follow E39 for about 300 kilometers, then take the exit towards Stavanger. Once in Stavanger, follow road signs to the city center and look for Øvre Strandgate, where Gamle Stavanger is located. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared for parking fees that can range from 20 to 30 NOK per hour.

Public Transportation - Train

From Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), take a train to Stavanger. NSB (now Vy) operates several daily trains, and the journey takes approximately 8 hours. Once you arrive at Stavanger Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located just across the street. From there, take bus line 1 or 2 towards the city center. Disembark at the stop labeled 'Stavanger sentrum' and walk to Øvre Strandgate to reach Gamle Stavanger.
