Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Oslo, take the E6 highway north towards Lillehammer. Continue on E6 until you reach the exit for E16 towards Fagernes. Follow E16 to the town of Aurland, then take the road towards Gudvangen (Fv243). From Gudvangen, follow signs to Kjelfossen. The waterfall is located approximately 2 km from the center of Gudvangen. Keep an eye out for parking areas along the way. Please note that some parking areas may charge a fee.

    To reach Kjelfossen via public transport from Oslo, take a train from Oslo Central Station to Myrdal (approximately 5 hours). From Myrdal, take the Flåm Railway down to Flåm.
