Experience Hallingskarvet National Park

Getting There

  • Car

    Start from the center of Geilo and head south on the Rv7 highway. Continue for about 18 kilometers until you reach the junction for the Rv 40 road towards Hol. Turn left onto Rv 40 and follow the signs for Finse. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will arrive at the village of Finse. Hallingskarvet National Park is located near Rallarvegen 2660, 5719 Finse. Ensure to have a GPS or map for the final stretch as the park entrance may not be prominently marked.

  • Public Transportation

    From Geilo, take the train operated by Vy towards Oslo. You will travel on the Bergen Line. Disembark at the Finse station, which is approximately a 1-hour ride. Once at Finse, you can either walk or bike to Hallingskarvet National Park, located at Rallarvegen 2660, about 5 kilometers from the Finse station. Note that there may be bike rentals available in Finse if you prefer cycling to the park.

  • Hiking

    If you are already in Finse and looking for an adventurous route, from the Finse railway station, you can take a hiking trail that leads into Hallingskarvet National Park.
