Car
If you're driving from the center of Geiranger, head northwest on Geirangervegen (Road 63) towards the village of Hellesylt. After approximately 15 km, you will see signs for Stranda. Continue on Road 63 until you reach the intersection with Road 60 at Stranda. Turn left onto Road 60 and follow the signs for Stranda. After about 5 km, you will reach a small parking area near Gjerdefossen. Make sure to park legally and consider any parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Gjerdefossen using public transport, take the bus from Geiranger to Stranda. The bus service is operated by Fjord1, and you can check the timetable online. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Stranda, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 km to reach Gjerdefossen. Follow the signs towards the waterfall, and enjoy the scenic walk along the way.
Walking
From the nearest bus stop in Stranda, head west along the main road (Road 60). After about 1 km, you will see a sign for Gjerdefossen. Turn left onto the small trail that leads towards the waterfall. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.
