Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Geiranger village. Head southwest on Geirangervegen (Road 63) towards the direction of Eidsdal. Continue on this road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will notice a sign indicating Geirangerelva. Turn left when you see the sign and follow the narrow road leading to the river. There is a small parking area near the river where you can park your car.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take the bus from Geiranger to Eidsdal. The bus departs from the Geiranger bus terminal. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Eidsdal, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer back towards Geiranger to reach Geirangerelva. Look for the same sign as mentioned for drivers. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited depending on the season.

Walking

If you are in the immediate area of Geiranger and prefer to walk, head towards the main road (Geirangervegen) and follow it southwest for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for the signs for Geirangerelva along the way. The walk is scenic, with beautiful views of the fjord and surrounding mountains, but be cautious of traffic as you walk along the road.
