Car
If you are traveling by car, take the E6 highway heading north from Lillehammer. After approximately 60 kilometers, take the exit onto Rv 255 towards Skåbu. Continue on Rv 255 for about 15 kilometers until you reach Skåbu. From Skåbu, follow the signs for Jotunheimvegen. The route is well-marked, and you will find beautiful scenery along the way. There are no tolls on this route.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Lillehammer to Skåbu. Check the local bus schedules as they may vary. Upon arriving in Skåbu, you can either walk or take a taxi to the beginning of Jotunheimvegen, which is about 5 kilometers from the bus stop. It's advisable to confirm taxi availability in advance as services may be limited in rural areas.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route from Skåbu, you can hire a taxi. Taxis are available in Skåbu, but it’s recommended to book one in advance. The taxi ride will take about 10 minutes and will cost approximately 200-300 NOK, depending on the exact pickup location and time.
