Getting there

Car

If you are driving, head towards Runningsvegen in Heidal. From the center of Rondane National Park, take the E6 highway northwards until you reach the exit for Fv27 towards Heidal. Continue on Fv27 for approximately 20 kilometers until you see signs for Heidal. Turn onto Runningsvegen and follow it until you reach Heidal Husky at Runningsvegen 193, 2676 Heidal. Make sure to check your fuel levels as there may not be many services along the way.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from the nearest major town, Otta. The bus service (operated by Hedmark Trafikk) will take you towards Heidal. You will need to check the schedule for the bus times, as they may vary. Once you arrive in Heidal, you can either walk (approximately 5 km) or arrange for a taxi to take you directly to Heidal Husky located at Runningsvegen 193. It is advisable to book your taxi in advance.

Walking from Nearby Locations

If you find yourself in nearby areas of Rondane National Park, you can also walk or bike to Heidal Husky. From the park’s visitor center, head towards Runningsvegen and follow the signs. The walk is approximately 10 to 15 kilometers depending on your starting point, and the trail is well-marked. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
