If you're traveling by car, start from the main town centers on Senja Island like Silsand or Finnsnes. Take the E6 road towards Vangsvik. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the junction for Fv860. Turn onto Fv860 and follow the road for about 10 minutes. Look for signs to Åndervatnet; the trailhead is located along this road. There is parking available at the trailhead, but be aware that it may fill up quickly during peak times.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Silsand or Finnsnes that heads towards Vangsvik. You will need to check the local bus schedules as they can vary. Once you arrive in Vangsvik, you may need to walk approximately 2 km to the trailhead on Fv860. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and check the weather before your journey. Additionally, plan your return trip ahead of time as bus services may not be frequent, particularly in the evening.
