Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Søgne, which is approximately 20 km southwest of Kristiansand. From Kristiansand, take the E39 highway southbound. After about 15 km, take the exit towards Søgne (Route 456). Follow Route 456 into Søgne, and then continue on to the coastal road towards Ny-Hellesund. You'll see signs for the Ny-Hellesund coastal fort as you approach the area. There is a small parking area near the fort. Note that parking may be limited, so plan accordingly.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Ny-Hellesund via public transport, take a bus from Kristiansand to Søgne. The bus station in Kristiansand is located near the city center. Check the local bus schedules for departures to Søgne, as they may vary. Once you arrive in Søgne, you can either walk to Ny-Hellesund, which is about a 4 km walk, or take a local taxi if you prefer not to walk. Make sure to have some cash or a payment method ready for the bus fare, which typically costs around 50 NOK.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Ny-Hellesund. You can rent a bicycle in Kristiansand. Follow the same route as cars, taking E39 towards Søgne. There are designated bike lanes in certain areas, but be cautious on the main roads. Once you arrive in Søgne, you can cycle along the coastal road to Ny-Hellesund. This route is scenic and offers beautiful views of the coastline.

• Walking

  If you're already in Søgne and wish to walk to Ny-Hellesund, you can take a scenic route along the coastline. Follow the signs from the center of Søgne towards the waterfront. The walk is approximately 4 km and will take you through picturesque landscapes. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and check the weather before you set off.
