Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Stavanger train station, exit the station and turn left onto Jernbaneveien. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Ruten. Turn right onto Ruten, and you will see the city center square ahead, marked by the large public space and surrounded by shops and cafes.

  • Walking

    From the Stavanger Cathedral, head south on Kungsveien towards Øvre Holmegate. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Ruten. Turn left onto Ruten, and the city center square will be just ahead on your right.

  • Bus

    From the Stavanger bus terminal, take bus line 1 or 2 towards Madla or Forus. Get off at the Ruten stop, which is the closest stop to the city center square. Once you exit the bus, head towards the large open area in front of you; that is the city center square.

  • Walking

    If you are coming from the Stavanger waterfront, walk along the promenade towards the city center. As you approach the city, follow the signs pointing to the center. Continue straight until you reach Ruten, where the city center square will be directly in front of you.
