Getting there

Walking

Start at the Stavanger Cathedral, located at Haakon VIIs gate 2. Head northeast on Haakon VIIs gate towards Breidablikkveien. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Øvre Holmegate. Turn left onto Øvre Holmegate and walk until you reach the end of the street. Here, you will find a park; continue walking through the park, which is called Breidablikk Park, until you reach the main road. Cross the main road and head towards the bridge that leads to Vålandshaugen. Once you cross the bridge, take the path that leads uphill to your right. This path will take you directly to Vålandstårnet.

Public Transport (Bus)

From the Stavanger bus station, take bus number 4 towards 'Våland'. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the stop 'Våland'. Once you exit the bus, walk uphill towards Vålandstårnet, which is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs to Vålandstårnet, and you will arrive at the historical landmark.

Cycling

If you have a bike, you can start from the city center. Head towards the waterfront and follow the cycle path along the harbor. Continue past the Norwegian Petroleum Museum until you reach the green park area. From there, follow the signs for Vålandshaugen. The bike route will take you through scenic paths, and you will cycle uphill to reach Vålandstårnet, which is well-marked along the way.
