Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Lock 25 from any location in Northeast Ohio, start by getting onto I-76 E. From I-76 E, take exit 22 for OH-8 N toward Akron. Merge onto OH-8 N and continue for about 6 miles. Take exit 18 for W Market St toward OH-18. Continue on W Market St for about 1.5 miles, then turn right onto Akron Peninsula Rd. After about 1 mile, turn left onto the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Note that there is limited parking near Lock 25; you may need to park a short distance away and walk to the location.

• Public Transportation

  For travelers using public transportation, start by finding a bus route that services your area and connects to Akron. You can use the Akron METRO RTA service. After arriving at the Akron bus terminal, take the 1 or 6 bus lines towards the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Disembark at the nearest stop to the trail. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles to reach Lock 25. Make sure to check the bus schedules for any specific routes that may be needed, as services may vary.

  If you prefer biking, you can take advantage of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, which is a popular route for cyclists. Start at any access point along the trail and ride towards Akron. The trail is well-marked and offers a scenic route. Once you approach Lock 25, be aware that there may not be designated bike parking, so you will need to secure your bike in a nearby area.
