From Oklahoma City, take I-40 West towards Amarillo. After about 90 miles, take exit 20 for US-283 N toward Elk City. Continue on US-283 N for approximately 35 miles until you reach Cheyenne. In Cheyenne, turn left onto OK-47 Alt, and follow it for about 3 miles. The Washita Battlefield National Historic Site will be on your right at 18555 OK-47 Alt.

If you're coming from Tulsa, take US-169 S to I-44 S. Merge onto I-40 W and follow the same directions as above from Oklahoma City. This route will take you approximately 2.5 hours depending on traffic.
