If you are already in Ouachita National Forest and traveling by car, head towards Hodgen, OK. From the intersection of Highway 271 and Highway 9, take Highway 9 East for about 8 miles. Then, turn left onto Talimena Drive (also known as Scenic Byway 1). Continue on Talimena Drive for approximately 5 miles until you reach the Emerald Vista. Look for parking areas along the road, as the scenic overlook does not have a designated parking lot.
