Starting from the city center of Al Batinah North Governorate, take Route 1 (Muscat-Sohar Road) heading towards Sohar. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 5. Merge onto Route 5 towards the UAE border. Continue driving for about 30 kilometers until you reach the Hatta border crossing. Once cleared, follow the signs for Hatta Dam, which is about 15 kilometers from the border. There is no toll on the roads, but ensure you have the necessary documents for border crossing.

While public transportation options are limited, you can take a bus from Muscat to Sohar. From the Sohar bus station, you may need to hire a taxi to reach the UAE border and then another taxi to Hatta Dam. The bus ride to Sohar typically costs around 5 Omani Rials.
