Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Salalah, take the Sultan Qaboos Street (Route 49) northeast towards Taqah. After approximately 30 km, you will reach Taqah. Once in Taqah, follow the signs to Ayn Athum. The road will lead you through beautiful landscapes. You may need a 4x4 vehicle for the last part of the journey as the road can be unpaved. • Public Transportation

  From Salalah, you can take a bus or shared taxi to Taqah. Once you arrive in Taqah, you will likely need to hire a taxi to reach Ayn Athum Waterfalls, as public transport does not directly service this area. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 5-10 Omani Rial. The taxi ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Prepare for some rough terrain, so confirm that the driver is familiar with the route.

• Walking

  If you are already near Taqah and prefer to walk, you can trek from the town towards Ayn Athum. The distance is about 5 km and involves walking along paths that may not be well marked. Ensure you have a good map or GPS application. Be prepared for a hike, as the terrain can be steep and rugged.

• Combination of Car and Walking

  For those who drive to Taqah but do not want to navigate the rough roads to Ayn Athum by car, consider parking in Taqah and walking the remaining distance. From the main road, follow local paths or ask locals for directions to the waterfalls. Again, prepare for a trek as the last stretch is off the beaten path.
