From Jebel Akhdar, take the road leading down the mountain towards Nizwa. Follow the signs towards Nizwa, which is approximately 40 km away. The drive will take around 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Nizwa, look for signs to Nizwa Fort, which is located in the city center. There is public parking available near the fort.
Public Transportation

To reach Nizwa Fort from Jebel Akhdar using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi (also known as 'dalla') from the main road in Jebel Akhdar down to Nizwa. The shared taxi service is frequent and should cost around 5 OMR per person. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Nizwa, you can walk to Nizwa Fort, which is about a 10-minute walk from the taxi drop-off point.
