Getting There

• Car

  To reach Wadi Fanja by car from Muscat, start by heading east on the Sultan Qaboos Highway (Route 1). Continue on Route 1 for approximately 80 kilometers, passing through the towns of Bidbid and Fanja. Look for signs indicating Fanja and take the exit toward Fanja. After exiting, follow the road signs to Fanja. Once you reach the vicinity of Fanja, use GPS or a map app to navigate to the coordinates 23.457939, 58.107698, which will lead you to Wadi Fanja. Note that parking may be available near the entrance to the wadi.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Muscat to Fanja. Buses to Fanja typically depart from the main bus station in Muscat. The journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Fanja, you will need to hire a taxi or use a ride-sharing service to get to Wadi Fanja, as it is about 5-10 minutes away from the bus stop. Ensure you confirm the fare with the driver before starting your ride.

• Walking (from public transport)

  Once you arrive at the Fanja bus station, if you prefer to walk to Wadi Fanja, it is approximately a 4 km walk. Head southwest on the main road (F455) towards the coordinates 23.457939, 58.107698. The path is a scenic walk but can be hot, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The walk may take around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
