Getting There

Walking
From the center of Rustaq, start by heading towards the Rustaq Fort, which is a well-known landmark. Once you reach the fort, follow the path that leads to the main road (Route 21). Turn left onto Route 21 and continue walking for approximately 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards Jabal Shams. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach a junction where you will see signs indicating Wadi Ghul. Follow these signs to your left, and continue on this road for another 10 kilometers. The road will lead you into the beautiful mountainous area of Jabal Shams. As you approach the Wadi Ghul area, you will see the landmark '56R6+599' on your right, which is your destination.

From the Rustaq bus station, find a local bus that heads towards Nizwa. Inform the bus driver that you are going to Jabal Shams. The bus will take you along Route 21. After approximately 30 minutes, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the junction for Wadi Ghul. Once you get off, you may need to walk for about 10 minutes along the road, following the signs for Jabal Shams. As you walk, you will see the area marked '56R6+599' on your right, which indicates you have reached your destination.
