Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Tiwi. From Muscat, take the Sultan Qaboos Highway (Route 1) towards Sur. After approximately 140 km, take the exit towards Tiwi. Follow the signs to Wadi Shab, which is well-marked. You will drive through the village of Tiwi and eventually reach the parking area near the entrance to Wadi Shab. The parking fee is around 1 Omani Rial (OMR), and it's advisable to arrive early to secure a parking spot.
Public Transportation
To reach Wadi Shab using public transportation, take a bus from Muscat to Sur. The buses leave from the Al Qurum area in Muscat. Once you arrive in Sur, you can catch a local taxi or a minibus to Tiwi. Inform the driver that you want to go to Wadi Shab, and they will take you to the entrance. The total cost for the bus from Muscat to Sur is approximately 5 OMR, and the taxi from Sur to Wadi Shab will cost around 10 OMR.
Boat
After parking your car or arriving via public transport, you'll need to take a small boat across the water to reach the start of the hiking trail. The boat ride is typically 2 OMR per person and offers a unique view of the canyon. The boat dock is located just a short walk from the parking area.
