Getting There

• Public Bus

  To get to Petersen Rock Garden & Museum from downtown Bend, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Cascade East Transit (CET) Route 1. Board the bus heading towards Redmond. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at SW 77th St. and SW 79th St. From there, walk about 0.3 miles south on SW 77th St. The museum will be on your right.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Bend. Start on the Deschutes River Trail heading north until you reach the intersection with US-97. Follow the trail signs to Redmond, which will lead you along a scenic route. Once you reach Redmond, continue onto SW 77th St. and ride south for about 1.5 miles until you arrive at Petersen Rock Garden & Museum on your right.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking and are staying close to the center of Bend, you can take a long, scenic walk. Start at the Old Mill District and head north towards the Deschutes River Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with US-97. Cross the highway carefully and continue towards Redmond along the bike paths and sidewalks. This will take approximately 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Once you reach SW 77th St., walk south for about 0.3 miles, and you will find the museum on your right.
