Getting There

• Car

  To reach Mount Hood Wilderness by car, start by getting onto US-26 E from your current location in Clackamas County. Continue on US-26 E for approximately 35 miles. Take the exit toward OR-35 S, then merge onto OR-35 S. Follow OR-35 S for about 10 miles until you reach the Mount Hood area. Depending on your specific destination within the wilderness, take the appropriate exit or road leading to the trailheads such as the Timberline Trailhead or Trillium Lake Trailhead. Be prepared for potential parking fees at these trailheads, which can vary.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take the TriMet MAX Light Rail to the Gresham Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Mt. Hood Express bus service. The Mt. Hood Express will take you to various points around the Mount Hood area including the Timberline Lodge. Check the Mt.
