Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start on I-205 N. Take exit 21B to merge onto I-84 E toward The Dalles. Continue on I-84 E for about 22 miles. Take exit 40 for Corbett and keep right at the fork to follow signs for Corbett. Turn left onto E Historic Columbia River Hwy and follow the signs for Rooster Rock State Park. The park entrance will be on your right. Note that there is a $5 parking fee per vehicle.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the MAX Light Rail Red Line from downtown Portland to the Gateway Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Columbia Gorge Express bus service which operates on weekends and holidays. The bus will take you directly to Rooster Rock State Park. Be sure to check the schedule for the latest times and availability. The fare for the bus is approximately $5 each way.

Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider biking to Rooster Rock State Park. Start from downtown Portland and take the Eastbank Esplanade Trail south to the Springwater Corridor Trail. From there, follow the trail to the Historic Columbia River Highway, which will lead you directly to the park. The ride is about 25 miles one way, so be prepared for a long journey. Ensure you have a bike lock and water for the trip.
