From Bend, Oregon, take US-97 N. Continue on US-97 for approximately 15 miles. Take the exit for S Century Dr toward Deschutes River. Follow S Century Dr for about 5 miles, where you'll reach the scenic viewpoints along the Deschutes River. There are several access points to the river, including the Shevlin Park area, where you can park your car and access the river easily. Parking is free.

Public Transportation

If using public transportation, start at the Bend Central District. Take the Cascade East Transit Route 1 towards Sunriver. Request a stop at the Deschutes River Trailhead. From the trailhead, you can walk to various access points along the river. Be aware that the bus fare is approximately $2.00 for a one-way trip.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, you can access the Deschutes River via the Deschutes River Trail from downtown Bend. Rent a bike from one of the local shops, such as Pine Mountain Sports or Wheel Fun Rentals.
