Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from downtown Hood River, head east on Oak Street towards the Columbia River. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 1st Street. Turn right onto 1st Street and continue for another 0.2 miles. This will lead you to the intersection with Cascade Avenue (OR-35). Turn left onto Cascade Avenue. You will now be walking along this main road. Continue on Cascade Avenue for about 1.5 miles. As you walk, you'll enjoy views of the river and surrounding landscape. After 1.5 miles, you will see The Gorge White House on your right at 2265 OR-35. Look for the entrance with a large sign.

Starting from downtown Hood River, rent a bike if you do not have one. Begin your ride heading east on Oak Street towards the waterfront. When you reach 1st Street, turn right and continue cycling for about 0.2 miles. At the intersection with Cascade Avenue (OR-35), turn left. Ride along Cascade Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles. You will pass several scenic views and local attractions along the way. The Gorge White House will be on your right at 2265 OR-35. There is bike parking available at the destination.
