Merge onto US-97 N and continue for approximately 25 miles. Then, take the exit towards OR-58 E/Cascade Lakes Highway. Follow OR-58 E for about 18 miles to reach the Cascade Lakes area. Be prepared for some scenic views along the way, and keep an eye out for signs indicating the lakes.
Public Transportation
Currently, public transportation options are limited in Lake County. You can take a bus from Lakeview to Klamath Falls via the Klamath Basin Transit. From Klamath Falls, you would need to rent a car or use a rideshare service (if available) to reach the Cascade Lakes, as there are no direct public transit routes to the lakes. Renting a car is highly recommended for ease of access and convenience.
Biking
If you're feeling adventurous and are an experienced cyclist, biking to Cascade Lakes can be a great option. From Lakeview, take the same route as if you were driving (OR-140 W to US-97 N). The distance is approximately 60 miles, so ensure you're prepared with sufficient supplies, including water and snacks. The roads can be busy, so exercise caution and wear appropriate safety gear.
Hiking
For those who are up for a challenge, there are hiking trails that lead to various spots around the Cascade Lakes. However, accessing these trails generally requires a vehicle to reach the trailheads. If you are already at a close location, research local trails and ensure you have a map and enough supplies for a long trek.
