Getting There

• Car

  From Lakeview, head south on US-395 S for approximately 35 miles. As you approach Plush, turn right onto OR-140 E. Continue on OR-140 E for about 6 miles until you reach the junction with County Road 2-13 (look for signs indicating the Sunstone Public Collection Area). Turn left onto County Road 2-13 and follow it for about 4 miles. You will see the Sunstone Public Collection Area entrance on your left. Make sure to have a map or GPS ready as cell service may be limited in this area.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in Lake County. The nearest bus service is through the Lake County Transit, which can take you to Lakeview. From there, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Sunstone Public Collection Area. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently. • Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can start from Lakeview and take US-395 S. Please note that it is about a 35-mile ride to Plush, which may take several hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Plush, follow the same directions as driving, turning onto OR-140 E and then County Road 2-13 to reach the collection area.

• Hiking

  For those adventurous enough to hike, you can start from Lakeview and follow the scenic trails towards Plush. This would require a multi-day hike, as the distance is approximately 35 miles. Ensure you have proper gear and supplies, including maps, food, and water. It's essential to plan your route carefully and notify someone about your hiking plans for safety.
