Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the downtown area of The Dalles. Head southeast on E 3rd St toward Union St. Continue onto E 4th St, then turn right onto Union St. Walk toward the Columbia River, and you will see the waterfront. From the waterfront, follow the path along the river until you reach the intersection with E 10th St. Turn left on E 10th St and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Chenoweth Loop Rd. Follow Chenoweth Loop Rd as it turns into the Historic Columbia River Highway. This road leads towards Rowena Crest Viewpoint.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, rent a bike from a local shop in The Dalles. Start at the intersection of E 3rd St and Union St. Head south on Union St until you reach the waterfront. From here, hop onto the scenic bike path along the Columbia River. Follow the path until you connect with the Historic Columbia River Highway. Continue on this road; it is a beautiful ride with several viewpoints along the way. Keep following the road until you reach Rowena Crest Viewpoint at 6500 Historic Columbia River Hwy in Mosier, OR.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  To reach Rowena Crest Viewpoint using public transport, start by finding the nearest bus stop in downtown The Dalles. Take the Columbia Area Transit bus heading towards Mosier. Ensure you check the bus schedule for timings and routes. Once you arrive in Mosier, get off at the stop closest to the Historic Columbia River Highway. From there, you can walk along the highway for about 1.5 miles to reach Rowena Crest Viewpoint.
