Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the downtown area of The Dalles, near the intersection of 2nd Street and East Court Street. Head east on East Court Street, continuing until you reach the waterfront park area. This should take about 10-15 minutes. Once you reach the park, follow the path along the Columbia River, enjoying the scenic views. Continue walking until you see a sign for the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. At this point, you will take a right and walk uphill on Bret Clodfelter Way. The Dalles Dam Visitor Center will be at 3545 Bret Clodfelter Way, which is about a 15-minute walk from the waterfront path. Overall, the walk should take around 30-40 minutes.

  If you are cycling, start in the downtown area at 2nd Street and East Court Street. Head east along East Court Street until you reach the waterfront. Once at the waterfront park, follow the paved path along the Columbia River. After passing the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, take a right turn onto Bret Clodfelter Way. Cycle uphill for approximately 1 mile, and you will arrive at The Dalles Dam Visitor Center located at 3545 Bret Clodfelter Way. This route should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.

• Public Transport

  To reach The Dalles Dam Visitor Center via public transport, start at the local transit hub in downtown The Dalles. Take the bus that heads towards the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. Once you arrive at the Discovery Center stop, you will need to walk uphill on Bret Clodfelter Way for about 15 minutes to reach the Visitor Center at 3545 Bret Clodfelter Way.
