If you're driving from The Dalles, take I-84 E from W 3rd St. Continue on I-84 E for approximately 19 miles. Take exit 97 toward US-197 S/Biggs Junction. Merge onto US-197 S and follow it for about 10 miles. Turn left onto Deschutes River State Recreation Area Rd, and you will arrive at the recreation area. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a day-use fee.

If you're starting from Hood River, head south on OR-35 S. After about 16 miles, merge onto I-84 E. Continue on I-84 E for about 12 miles. Take exit 97 toward US-197 S/Biggs Junction.
