Rest Area: A Scenic Oasis on the Road

If you're traveling by car within Wheeler County, head towards Terrebonne. From any location in the county, make your way to US-97 North or South, depending on your starting point. If you're coming from the north, take the exit for Terrebonne and merge onto US-97 S. If you're coming from the south, follow signs for US-97 N. Once you're on US-97, continue for about 12 miles. The Rest Area will be located on the right side of the highway at 12597 US-97, Terrebonne, OR 97760. Look for the signs indicating the rest area.

Public Transportation

For those relying on public transportation, check with local bus services for routes that connect to Terrebonne. As of my last knowledge update, there are limited public transit options, so you may need to reach a larger hub first, such as Redmond or Bend, and then use a rideshare service or a taxi to reach the Rest Area. It's advisable to plan ahead as schedules can vary, and some services may require advance reservations. Ensure you have some cash or a credit card on hand for fares.

Biking

If you're an adventurous traveler and want to bike to the Rest Area, ensure you have a good map or GPS. Start in Terrebonne and head east on any local road leading to US-97. Once you reach the highway, be cautious as it can be busy with traffic. The Rest Area is located directly off US-97, and there are bike lanes available for part of the route. Bring necessary biking gear, including a helmet and water, as this route can be quite exposed.
