From the center of Chitral, start at the Chitral Fort. Head south towards the main bazaar and continue walking straight. After about 20 minutes, you will reach the Chitral River. Follow the river road for approximately 30 minutes until you see a sign for Maaz Mountain. The trailhead is about 1 kilometer past the sign. Follow the trail, which is well-marked and will lead you directly to Maaz Mountain.

If you are already at a lower altitude near the river, begin your hike from the riverbank. Ascend towards the west where you will find a path that leads to Maaz Mountain.
