Getting There

Walking
Start from the center of Chitral town. Head northeast on the main road towards the Chitral River. Once you reach the river, continue walking along the riverside road. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will come to the junction of the road leading towards Mastuj. Take the right turn at the junction. Continue walking for another 11 kilometers along this road, which will take you through beautiful landscapes and local villages. Keep an eye out for signposts indicating the way to Mastuj. After about 11 kilometers, you will reach the village of Mastuj. The Mastuj Fort is located near the center of the village, easily visible as you approach.

Horse Cart
From any point in Chitral town, locate a horse cart (locally known as 'Tonga') by asking around or going to the market area. Negotiate a fare and inform the driver that you want to go to Mastuj. The driver will take you along the main road towards Mastuj. The journey will cover approximately 13 kilometers, and you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. Once you reach Mastuj, ask the driver to drop you near the fort.
