If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Naran, which is a popular hub in Kaghan Valley. Head south on the Naran-Kaghan Road (N-15). Continue driving for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the town of Balakot. From Balakot, take the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road (N-15) and drive for another 20 kilometers. As you approach the village of Jalkhad, look for signs directing you towards Sharan Forest. The forest entrance is located approximately 5 kilometers from Jalkhad. The total driving distance is around 50 kilometers from Naran to Sharan Forest, and it should take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus or shared taxi from Naran to Mansehra. The buses frequently depart from the main bus station in Naran and the journey takes about 2 hours. Upon reaching Mansehra, you will need to find a local transport option to Jalkhad. Shared taxis or local vans are available for hire, and you can negotiate the fare. From Jalkhad, you can either walk to Sharan Forest, which is about 5 kilometers away, or arrange for a local taxi to take you directly to the forest entrance. Be prepared to pay a small fee for the taxi ride.
