Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Mansehra. Head northwest on the N-35 highway (also known as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor). Continue for about 40 kilometers until you reach the town of Burawai. Once in Burawai, follow the local signs pointing towards Heart Lake, which is located approximately 15 kilometers further on a well-maintained road. The drive should take about 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic conditions.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Mansehra to Burawai. Buses regularly depart from the Mansehra bus terminal and the fare should range between 50-100 PKR. Once you arrive in Burawai, you can hire a local taxi or use a rickshaw to cover the last 15 kilometers to Heart Lake. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should typically be around 300-500 PKR depending on the vehicle and your negotiation skills.

• Walking

  If you prefer an adventurous approach, you could also choose to walk the last stretch from Burawai to Heart Lake, especially if you're fit and enjoy hiking. The trail is scenic but can be challenging. Ensure you have enough water and snacks as this trek can take about 3-4 hours. It's advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the midday heat.
