If you have access to a car, you can drive to Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Start your journey on the NH 1D highway heading southeast. After approximately 80 kilometers, you will reach the town of Kargil. Continue on the same road for another 40 kilometers until you reach the village of Aru. From Aru, you will need to take a local road that leads into the sanctuary area, which is approximately 10 kilometers away. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for mountain driving, and check road conditions before you embark.

For those relying on public transportation, take a shared taxi or a bus from Leh to Kargil. Buses usually leave from the Leh bus station and take about 4-5 hours to reach Kargil. Once in Kargil, you can hire a local taxi to Aru village. The taxi ride will take about 1 hour and cost around 1000-1500 INR. From Aru village, you can either walk to the sanctuary (approximately a 2-3 hour hike) or hire a local guide who can provide transportation into the sanctuary.
