Car
From Rama Valley, start by heading south on the main road towards Astore. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction towards Astor River. Look for signs indicating the direction to Astor River. Once you reach the junction, turn left and follow the winding road, which will take you through scenic landscapes. After about 10 kilometers, you will see a parking area near the river's edge. Make sure to park your car safely before heading towards the river bank.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can catch a local bus or a shared taxi from Rama Valley to Astore. Buses typically leave every hour, and the fare is around 200 PKR. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Astore, you can hire a local taxi or a rickshaw, which will take you directly to Astor River for an additional cost of about 500 PKR. Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance and confirm the return trip if needed.
Hiking
For the adventurous spirit, consider hiking to Astor River from a nearby point in Rama Valley. You can start your hike from Rama Lake, which is about 5 kilometers away. Follow the trails leading south towards the river. The hike is moderately challenging and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so be prepared with proper hiking gear and sufficient water.
