To reach Saifullah Lake from Mingora, the main city in Swat, start by heading to the central bus station. From there, take a local bus or a shared taxi heading towards Kalam. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Kalam, disembark at the main market area. From the market, you can either hire a local guide or follow the Mahodand Lake Road on foot. The trek to Saifullah Lake from Kalam is about 12 kilometers and will take roughly 3 to 4 hours on foot. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountains and rivers. Keep an eye out for signposts that will direct you towards Saifullah Lake.

Hiking
If you are feeling adventurous and prefer a more direct route, consider hiking straight from Kalam. Start your hike early in the morning to avoid the midday heat. Follow the Mahodand Lake Road, which is well-trodden. The first part of the hike is relatively easy, but it becomes steeper as you approach the lake. Allow for approximately 3 hours of hiking time. Bring plenty of water and snacks, and take breaks to enjoy the stunning views along the way. Make sure to wear suitable hiking shoes.

In Kalam, you can find local taxis or jeeps that can take you part of the way to Saifullah Lake. Negotiate a fare with the driver for a ride to the nearest point on the Mahodand Lake Road. After being dropped off, you will still have to hike the remaining distance of approximately 4 to 5 kilometers to reach the lake. This option is great if you want to save some energy for exploring the area around the lake.
