The journey from Port Moresby to Sogeri takes about 1 hour, depending on traffic. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as the roads may be bumpy. There are no tolls along this route.

To reach Koiari waterfall via public transportation from Port Moresby, take a minibus or PMV (public motor vehicle) heading to Sogeri. These leave from the main bus station in Port Moresby. The fare is usually around 10-15 PGK. Once you arrive in Sogeri, you can either walk to the waterfall, which is about a 30-minute trek, or hire a local guide for a small fee (approximately 20-30 PGK) to help navigate the area.
