Travel Guide to Cerro Lambaré

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start your journey from the center of Asunción. Navigate towards Avenida Mcal. López heading south. Continue straight on Avenida Mcal. López until you reach the intersection with Avenida Eusebio Ayala. Turn left on Avenida Eusebio Ayala and continue until you see the signs for Cerro Lambaré. Follow the signs as you turn right onto Avenida Defensores del Chaco. You will need to park your car at one of the designated parking areas near the base of the hill, as there is no parking directly at the summit.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cerro Lambaré using public transportation, start by finding a bus stop that services routes going towards Lambaré. Buses such as 26, 31, or 38 can take you close to the mountain. Board the bus and pay the fare (approximately 2,500 PYG). Once you reach the stop nearest to Cerro Lambaré, you may need to walk a short distance to the entrance. Look for signs indicating the trailhead. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.

• Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service

  For a more comfortable option, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-hailing service such as Uber. Specify 'Cerro Lambaré' as your destination. The driver will take you directly to the base of the hill. The cost for this service varies, but expect to pay around 30,000 to 50,000 PYG depending on your pickup location and traffic conditions. Remember to confirm the driver knows the location as it can be somewhat remote.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Cerro Lambaré, walking is a great option. From the nearest bus stop or parking area, follow the marked trails leading up to the summit. The hike is moderate, and it typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes to reach the top, depending on your pace. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the trails can be steep and may require some effort.
