Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, ensure your GPS is set to C8RM+J4R, 130308, which is the closest coordinate for Salto Aguaray. From the main entrance of Cerro Cora National Park, head southeast on the main road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the fork. Take the left fork and continue for another 5 kilometers. Look for signs that indicate Salto Aguaray, and you will see a small parking area where you can leave your car.

• Public Transportation

  For those traveling by public transportation, first take a bus from Asunción to the nearest city, Pedro Juan Caballero. From there, you can catch a local minibus or taxi to the entrance of Cerro Cora National Park. Once you reach the park entrance, you may need to hire a local guide or arrange for a taxi to take you directly to Salto Aguaray as public transportation does not go directly to the falls. Make sure to clarify the cost beforehand, which can vary but typically ranges from 50,000 to 100,000 PYG.

• Hiking

  If you're already within Cerro Cora National Park and prefer to hike, you can follow the marked trails leading southeast from the park's visitor center. The hike to Salto Aguaray is approximately 3 kilometers and will take about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Be sure to carry enough water and wear suitable hiking shoes. Follow the signs directing you to Salto Aguaray, and keep an eye out for wildlife along the trails.
