Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car within Cerro Cora National Park, start from the main park entrance. Head south on the main road, following signs for 'Cerro Muralla'. Continue for approximately 5 km until you reach the intersection near the 'Picada Lorito' trailhead. Turn right onto 'Picada Lorito', and after about 3 km, you will see a sign for 'Cerro Muralla' on your left. Follow the dirt path for another 1 km, and you'll arrive at the observation deck.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a bus from Asunción to the nearest town, Pedro Juan Caballero. Once you arrive, you can hire a local taxi or a mototaxi to take you to Cerro Cora National Park. Inform the driver that you want to go to 'Cerro Muralla'. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Agree on the fare before starting the trip, as not all taxis use a meter. Expect to pay around 50,000 to 70,000 PYG (Paraguayan Guarani).

    If you're already in the park and prefer hiking, locate the 'Picada Lorito' trailhead. From the trailhead, you will hike approximately 3 km along the marked trail leading to Cerro Muralla.
