Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within Rio Paraguay, start by heading towards the main road that connects to Route 1 (Ruta 1). This road runs parallel to the river and is well-marked. Follow Ruta 1 south for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of José Falcón. From there, take the exit towards Route 5 (Ruta 5) and follow the signs for the Paraguay River. The riverbanks are accessible at various points, so look for signs indicating viewpoints or access roads. There are no tolls on this route.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Paraguay River via public transportation, take a local bus from the main bus terminal in Rio Paraguay. Look for buses heading to José Falcón or any bus marked with 'Ruta 1.' The fare is typically around 10,000 PYG (Paraguayan Guarani). The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in José Falcón, you can either walk towards the river (approximately 20 minutes) or hire a local taxi for about 30,000 PYG to take you directly to the riverbanks.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route to the Paraguay River, consider hiring a taxi. Taxis are available throughout Rio Paraguay, and you can request one to take you to the river. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting the journey; typically, it should be around 50,000 PYG for a round trip. The driver will be familiar with the area and can take you to the best access points of the river.
