Car
To reach Boxcar Rocks by car from any point in the Anthracite Coal Region, first navigate to Route 72 North. Follow Route 72 until you reach the intersection with Route 22. Turn left onto Route 22 West and continue for approximately 6 miles. After that, take the exit onto Gold Mine Road. Follow Gold Mine Road for about 2 miles; Boxcar Rocks will be on your left. There is no parking fee, but make sure to park responsibly without blocking the road.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, you will need to take a bus to Jonestown. Check the local bus schedules for routes that connect to Jonestown, as services may vary. Once you arrive in Jonestown, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the last 2 miles to Boxcar Rocks, as public transportation does not directly service that area. Expect to pay for the taxi or rideshare, which may cost around $10-$15 depending on the provider.
